Cancellation & Refund Policy

We want your booking to be flexible and fair. This policy explains when and how cancellations and refunds are handled.
1. Standard cancellation windows
- 30+ days before departure: full refund, less any non-recoverable third-party fees (e.g. gorilla/park permits already issued).
- 14–29 days before departure: 50% refund.
- Less than 14 days before departure: non-refundable, as operators have committed resources.
Some experiences (e.g. gorilla trekking permits, hot-air-balloon safaris) carry stricter operator-specific terms, which are shown before you pay and take precedence where stated.
2. How to cancel
Contact us at hello@safariea.com with your booking reference. The cancellation takes effect when we confirm it.
3. How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method (mobile money, bank, or card). Processing times depend on the provider, typically a few business days after approval.
4. Changes by the operator
If an operator cancels or materially changes a tour, you are entitled to a full refund or a comparable alternative of your choice.
5. Force majeure
For events beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, civil unrest, border closures, pandemics), we will work with the operator to offer a credit, reschedule, or refund the recoverable portion.
